Self Inflicted's bottom is 1/4" steel finished with epoxy and two coats of antifouling paint.
An initial base coat in red and a second top coat in blue. This is been done to allow for a quick visual review of the top coat's status.
The paint used, 2 gallons per coat, is Sea Hawk's Cukote Biocide Plus Ablative Copolymer |
Bow View on the hard
Just aft of the forward stand are:
Stbd: scanning sonar
Port: speed sensor
Center: zinc
One of the two keel zincs is visible on the starboard side as well as the bow thruster tunnel. |
 |
Leading Edge
The leading edge of both the keel and skeg is not welds but rather Schedule 80 pipe.
Hit a partially submerged container with this at 6 knots and the chances of damage are substantially reduced. |

| Stern view: Waiting for the boot stripe |

| Another stern view taken at Seaview West during the most recent haul out. |
 |
| Most recent haul out after bottom painting. Everything forward of the bow thruster is chain and sail locker. |

Prop during zinc replacement
Note the bottom paint consists of two coats. The bottom coat in red and the top coat in blue. This makes it very easy to tell where the top coat has eroded when diving or in the yard. |
