Legal Notices |
Self Inflicted is quite different than most sail boats of her size in that she has
substantially more open deck. Room for work, room for pleasure, and free of common hazards that create a risk of trips and
falls.
All stanchions are welded in place, no chance of a loose screw, and all lifelines are stainless steel.
Hand grips abound and rings are welded in place from the bow to the pilot house for lifeline attachment. |
Overhead
This picture was taken from the dock at Seaview West just prior to a haul-out.
The jib is bagged to port, staysail bagged over the forward sail locker hatch and the main bagged on the mast.
Just above the main, on the leading edge of the mast, is the autopilot's fluxgate compass. |
 |
Anchor Pulpit
The stainless steel bow anchor pulpit is extra-wide to allow for tying down two foresails and still allow a path forward.
The steel forward hatch, over the chain and sail locker, is protected with a 3/8" polycarbonate window and is protected by three stainless steel pirate bars.
A picture of the windlasses protected by their cover can be found on the Ground Tackle page. |
 |
Foredeck
The twin independent Lofrans Progress II windlasses have independent controls, run on a 24VDC battery bank located in the chain-sail locker, and only shared with the bow thruster. |
 |
Topside
The clutter-free design leaves ample space for moving around the deck.
This picture was taken prior to installation of radar and new boom and with the old (very dirty) staysail. |
