I've had a RIB: I didn't like it. A RIB can not be rowed. A RIB can not be sailed, A RIB can not be picked up by one person and taken off the beach, and worst of all, they can deflate and sink.

Thus the decision was made to go to Gig Harbor Boat Works and purchase a new, customized, Navigator.

SI2 tied to port

Length: 10.0'
Beam: 54"
Displacement: 90 lbs

Customizations on SI2 include:

Stainless steel keel strip
7'6" spoon oars
Rowing mirror
Heavy duty lifting points
Rowing foot-stop

Oar Clamp

This little piece of hardware takes much of the worry out of leaving the dinghy on the davits or a beach. Not easy to row her away when you're straddling two oars, the clamp, and a padlock.

Next step is to make a bag out of sunbrella to protect the oars from the sun.

Spoon Oars

This is not SI2 but is a good picture from Gig Harbor's website showing the spoon oars and an attached outboard.

Built for sailing

Another picture from Gig Harbor's webiste showing that the Navigator can be rigged with either a 45 or 57 sq. ft. main or with the high performance option with 75 sq. ft. combined between the jib and main.
