The galley on a blue-water sailboat should not look like the galley of a family cruising boat or an RV. All surfaces have been designed with ease of cleaning as a primary consideration, hand-holds abound, and there is nothing that is going to go flying about in heavy seas.

Stainless Steel Hood, Backsplash, and Counter

Custom brushed stainless steel counter, hood, sink, and splash. Hidden from view, inside the hood, are two Lunasea, 10W, 49 Ultra Bright White light bars independently switched and master switched from the top switch on the right-side of the hood.

The gas detector is visible just to the left of the passage-way.

Galley with hood facing

The hood worked really well except that the forward lip was not long enough to keep steam contained above the stove and sink. This picture shows the new polycarbonate facia.

No longer have to worry about steam, smoke, or splashes to the face and it is hinged so it flips up out of the way for cleaning.

Galley

The stainless steel double sink and stove looking aft from the pilot house entry toward the starboard settee.

Hot water comes from an engine and shore power water heater located in the cabinet on the port side of the head.

Below counter storage

Also visible the Force 10 Model 60150 stove with 8200 and 4100 BTU burners and 5500 BTU broiler.

A sissy-bar has been purchased and will be installed soon to provide stove protection.

By now, if you've been paying attention, you should be wondering where the refrigerator and freezer are located. Take a look at the Pilot House pics ... you are in for a treat.
