Exterior Description
Self-Inflicted is a custom built 50', cutter rigged, auxiliary sailboat though the description "Nasty weather cruiser" suggested by
Charlie Tuna at Pressure-Drop seems equally appropriate.
The underbody is a hard chine, modern long chord fin keel design with a rudder aft of a long skeg.
The stem is raked while the stern is slightly reversed. There is a long open foredeck and ample side decks that lead aft past a low trunk cabin
amidships and a raised pilothouse to a short aft deck. The hull and superstructure are white with gray non-skid decking.
There is a stainless steel bow pulpit and a similar stern pulpit with stanchions and dual lifelines down each side.
Interior Description
The forward most compartment is a forepeak sail locker also containing the anchor rode with a large deck hatch. Aft of this is a full width double berth stateroom.
Next aft is the head with a toilet to starboard and a vanity with sink and shower fitting to port.
Aft of this is the main salon with straight settees to port and starboard, a table over an engine box and a hatch in the overhead.
A galley is aft to starboard and a raised double berth is to port.
Up a steps and aft is the pilothouse with sliding doors to both side decks and a custom helm station with transparent dome in the overhead.
Aft of this is the stern compartment.
A serious boat for the serious offshore sailor. |
